Eight-Character Numerology, also known as Four-Pillar Numerology, is an important part of traditional Chinese numerology. It predicts a person’s life destiny by analyzing the four time elements of birth: year, month, day, and hour (i.e., the Four Pillars).

1、 Basic Concepts of the Eight Characters

The Eight Characters consist of Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches, with each time unit corresponding to one Heavenly Stem and one Earthly Branch:

·Year Pillar: The Heavenly Stem and Earthly Branch of the birth year

·Month Pillar: The Heavenly Stem and Earthly Branch of the birth month

·Day Pillar: The Heavenly Stem and Earthly Branch of the birth day

·Hour Pillar: The Heavenly Stem and Earthly Branch of the birth hour

2、Calculation Method of the Eight Characters

Calculating the Eight Characters requires an accurate birth time, including year, month, day, and hour. The corresponding combination of Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches can be derived through specific algorithms.
